Cartoonist Bill Watterson of Calvin and Hobbes fame...which by the way, is absolutely one of my favorite comic strips of all time said, "Sometimes when I'm talking, my words can't keep up with my thoughts. I wonder why we think faster than we speak. Probably so we can think twice."
His words remind us of Solomon's: "He who guards his mouth and his tongue keeps himself from calamity." (Proverbs 21:23)
Do you want to eliminate some trouble in your life before it happens? Learn to think twice and speak once.

Pastor Del,
I really appreciated this morning's message about vulnerability. I can so relate to what you said about being an only child. I admit that growing up as a "preacher's kid" has made it very hard for me to connect with others in the church on a deep level. My experience was that church was not a safe place (oh the stories I could tell!). My intent is to send you a more thorough letter later in the week, but I wanted to mention my initial thoughts and tell you that I appreciate the way you are leading CLC.
Thank you,
Randall
I really can appreciate this Caution on Speaking without thinking. Especially after your message on vulnerability, If we choose to be vulnerable to the wrong people at the wrong time it can be disastrous. There is a time and a place for everything.

Message was awesome, probably could of been talking to everyone of us. Pastor Del is so wise, but so young. He should get Gray Highlights. Just kidding.
